Response to the Movie: Look Who's Back
Question: What kind of social commentary does the filmmaker seem to be offering about politicians, media and society?
One part of the movie that really stood out to me in terms of taking about the media and society was Hilter's reaction to what is on television these days. He is shocked at the nonsense being played on TV and said it is a missed opportunity for broadcasting propaganda. Later on when he is on live TV he says that the nonsense TV is distracting the people from what is really going on and the country is spiraling in an abyss. I do not really disagree with part of what he is saying. A lot of people do turn to nonsense TV, especially late at night. There are so many shows that make a lot of satire based off politics that people find funny, but do they really know what is going on in politics? This day in age it is very hard to find accurate unbias information, and there is just a lot of distracting elements in the way so people do not really go out of their way to look for it. Even when you do watch the news there is a lot of stuff that is shown that is not really news but just nonsense stories that really belong more on a facebook timeline rather than being broadcasted on television.
